Spicy Grapefruit Margarita
Hi guys!
I’m back with another happy hour recipe that will have you leaving your store-bought margarita mix in the aisle. TRUST, if you like it sweet, and you like it spicy… this one is for you!
As of lately, I’ve been ditching the to-go cocktails for homemade ones: it’s cheaper, better, and taste amazing. Just follow these simple steps to get you sippin’ in no time.
INGREDIENTS:
3 fl. oz. tequila
2 fl. oz. grapefruit juice (about 2 grapefruits)
1 fl. oz. lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
2 jalapeño slices + more for serving
1 fl. oz. simple syrup
1 to 2 cups of ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
The key to a spicy and delicious margarita is to infuse the alcohol with a few cut pieces of jalapeño, let this steep for 30 minutes or more.
Next, start juicing the grapefruits and limes separately. This part can be tedious, yet so worth it! The fresh citrus blends well with the sweet and spicy flavors, it feels like summer in a glass.
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and then pour in the infused tequila. Add grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
Mix well by giving the shaker a good shake.
Serve over fresh ice and garnish with grapefruit slices, jalapeño bits.
I like to go with an untraditional garnish (Pepper) instead of the salted rim, but that’s just my personal preference!
Simple right? Great cocktails don’t have to be rocket science. Hope you guys tried this recipe and let me know what you think!
