Crossing Off One of My Bucket List Goals
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I just got to cross off something major that’s been on my bucket list for over three years. This all came about during my first visit to New York, my dear friend Daisy had a list of her own goals, wild as they may be, she listed: entering a Miss Chinatown pageant, starting her own side-hustle, saving $50k, and sing in the subway. Each one came with their own set of challenges, but also tailored perfectly to her spunky personality.
It encouraged me to write a list of my own, short and sweet, but something I’ve been working towards for the last couple of years:
Treat my family to a vacation
Pay off all my student loans (halfway there, determined to finish it off this year)
Ride a hot air balloon
Learn to swim (I’m from SF okay! lol)
Fill up my passport with stamps ( I currently have 4)
Move to a different country
Run a 10K
Attend a lantern festival
Buy my own designer bag
Get Lasik
Dabble in stocks
Get my business license(s)
Perform stand-up comedy
Luckily, for my 27th birthday trip, Gino and I got to cross off something I’ve been dying to do while we were enjoying Mexico City. It was an incredible trip and riding a hot air balloon over the Teotihuacan Pyramids was the icing on top. There’s nothing like experiencing the view from above, seeing the rural farms, and witnessing how people live around these Mesoamerican structures. If you’re ever in Mexico City, I would recommend doing this, and booking this experience!
We got picked up from our hotel at 6am and rode an hour shuttle outside the city. Packed in a car filled with tired-eyes strangers, we grouped together to await our spot in the air. Truth be told, the communication between Mexitours is hard because of the language barrier, we called over and over to confirm our reservation (which didn’t happen until the day before). It’s a slight anxiety attack, but don’t worry, once you’re locked into the air, it’ll be smooth sailing!
