Millennials Guide to the Perfect Staycation in Wine Country
Napa is home to the best wine, the most luxurious of fine dining, and the ideal destination for a quick escape from city life.
With so many great tasting rooms + fine wine being made everywhere you look, it’s hard to tell which one you absolutely NEED to check out.
Lucky for you, I have drank my way through a few (ok, I mean all) of these wineries that are worth stopping by.
I was instantly drawn to these captivating wineries blooming in Napa, it’s a fresh new look on wine that millennials want to drink + creative spaces they’ll actually enjoy being in!
Ashes and Diamonds
A beautiful merge between old and new, Ashes and Diamonds draws in a much younger crowd to taste their selection of handcrafted wines. Expect bright pops of yellow and teal matched with mid-century eccentric furniture. I call this…”where Pinterest and West Elm collide”. A delightfully architected space so gorgeous it haunts me.
Mid-century expression oozing from every corner of this vineyard, drawing in millennial wine drinkers enticed by its sleek design. What caught my eye was their wine label, white, crisp, clean, certainly a very minimalist touch from start to finish.

Gott's Roadside
No Napa trip is complete without a pit stop to Gott’s Roadside. For me, garlic fries + ice cream…. and maybe a mint.

Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa
Drive to Calistoga and spend the night at Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa, what was once a 1940s roadside motel is now a remodeled 50 room lodge that reinvents the meaning of vacation here in wine country. Rooms feature a chic + sleek 1950s vibe paired with top-of-the-line amenities and free snacks!
The resort contains many whimsical elements: cruiser bikes for guest use and classic indoor/outdoor games to inviting communal spaces, and cozy fire pits. Acacia House
Now that you’re all rested up + relaxed, make sure to stop by St. Helena property's centerpiece, a Georgian-style mansion turned restaurant called Acacia House in Las Alcobas hotel.
Acacia House presents bold and memorable appetizers like their crudités or smoked trout + caviar dip. As for mains, we went for the Sonoma chicken and lobster roll.. #NoRegrets.

Tank Garage Winery
One of the most unique tasting rooms in the valley, a vintage garage to showcase some of their classic “one-offs”.
What’s a “one-off” you might ask? Tank Garage Winery specializes in wine making without adhering to a certain recipe year after year. While most wineries aim to make the same wine from the same vineyard every year, Tank produces small batch of distinct wines with the most insane eye-catching labels.
Pro tip: If you stay at the Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa you’ll find a red bandana, bring this to Tank and claim your free tasting!
