Embarcadero's Slanted Door Opens Appetite for Vietnamese Cuisine

Growing up Vietnamese AF + living in San Jose, CA for five years… I think it’s safe to say I know exactly where to get the Bay Area’s best Vietnamese food.. or so I thought.

Every little part of me really wanted to hate Slanted Door. Really. Most of my favorite Vietnamese places were mom and pop shops that probably had a health score of like 70 #AmIRite?!?!

Slanted Door is probably theeee most upscale/unnecessarily bougie Vietnamese restaurant that I’ve ever been to. I could already hear my mom’s voice yelling in my head.. she and my bank account were not happy with me that day.

From beginning to end, every dish that was brought to the table was more phenomenal than the last. Slanted Door’s quality cocktails + that killer view of the Bay Bridge could easily put anyone in the best mood! I had such a great time and can’t wait to come back again… I have my eye on a few more dessert items I have yet to try!
